Frequently Asked Questions
Charging an Electric Vehicle always prompts some questions – here’s some we can answer already about charging using the EV Up network. We’ll add more as we get closer to launch.
How much does it cost to charge?
We’ll be keeping things simple with a flat rate charge per kWh you add to your EV’s battery. We’re still finalising our exact rates, but depending on your EV’s battery size, a charge will cost between $10 and $20.
How long does it take to charge?
Our first wave of chargers will have a maximum power output of 50kW. How long it takes to charge also depends on your EV’s battery size, but to add 200km of range takes around 30 minutes.
Which cars can use EV Up?
If your vehicle has a CHAdeMO or CCS2 socket, you can use our Tritium Veefil-RT chargers.
How do I use an EV Up charger?
All you need is a smartphone. We’ll have more detailed instructions available when our first charger is live.
